Essential Phone
Andy Rubin, the creator of Android, has presented his incredibly audacious and ambitious project - the Essential Phone. At $699 the Android-powered smartphone is set to compete with the iPhone 8 and Galaxy S8 later this year, it features some impressive specs, a 5.71-inch edge-to-edge display with 2560 x 1312 resolution, a Snapdragon 835 processor, with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, 13-megapixel dual lens camera, 8-megapixel front camera, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, NFC, USB Type-C, and 3,040 mAh battery with fast-charging support. The home button/fingerprint sensor can be found on the rear where your fingers will naturally lie, and there’s no headphone jack (the device will ship with a dongle though). The Essential also features a modular system for accessories like a 360-degree camera that can be clipped on the device to enable a whole different kind of phone-based photography. Available in four color finishes: Black Moon, Stellar Grey, Pure White and Ocean Depths.
