Tiguan Gte Active

Volkswagen have just presented the spectacular Tiguan GTE Active at the North American International Auto Show, a robust plug-in hybrid, all-wheel-drive crossover SUV with two electric motors and a gasoline engine. The extreme off-road Tiguan features a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, and is powered by a turbocharged TSI four cylinder engine with 148 hp and 184 pound-feet of torque, while its electric motors produce 54 hp at the front wheels and 114 at the rear, for a total system power of 221 hp. It also comes equipped with easily replaceable front and rear skid plates, front and rear tow hooks, 16-inch wheels with chunky 245/70 off-road tires, and an impressive gesture control-enabled infotainment system.
