Nolla Cabin

Designer Robin Falck teamed up with Finnish renewable energy company Neste to create the Nolla Cabin, a prefabricated wood cabin stretching just 10 square meters. The plywood A-frame structure consists of a single room with two beds and a cooking station, and functions entirely on renewable energy. It can be assembled, disassembled and transported without leaving a trace in its surroundings. The tiny dwelling also features solar panels on one side of the roof that generate the electricity supply, and a big mirror on the other side to reflex excess heat, there is also a Wellas stove that doubles as a heating system and runs off of renewable diesel. The first Nolla Cabin was built in Vallisaari, one of the islands of the Helsinki archipelago, and is available for rent trough Airbnb. The cabin and its surroundings offer an excellent environment for a relaxing getaway from everyday life, where visitors have the chance to wind down and distance themselves from their daily routines and obligations.
